On the rail On the rail On the rail

The same scene, three different objects — because what you make is not what anyone else makes.

On the rail

Hanging on a simple wooden rail against pale plaster, lit so the weave and the drape read.

One garment on a plain wooden rail against a pale plastered wall, lit by soft daylight from one side so the weave shows and the fabric falls naturally. Nothing else on the rail.

This is the apparel scene, and the reason it exists is drape: a photograph cannot show grams, but it can show whether a fabric holds a fold or hangs straight, and that is what a buyer uses to decide between two jumpers at different prices. It is wrong for knitwear that stretches on a hanger, which belongs flat instead.

Send it hung or laid flat, smoothed first. The scene keeps the folds you give it — a crease from a drawer stays a crease from a drawer, and a hanger mark in the shoulders stays too.
