The same scene, three different objects — because what you make is not what anyone else makes.

Pour and settle

Liquid moving slowly and settling beside the bottle, so its thickness and clarity are visible.

Liquid moves within or beside the container, slowly, and comes to rest — catching the light as it goes so its body is readable. Thin liquid runs and clears fast; thick liquid folds over itself and holds. The bottle and its label do not move at all, and neither does the camera, so the only information in the clip is the liquid's own behaviour.

Viscosity is nearly impossible to photograph and immediately obvious in motion, which makes this the clip for oils, honey, syrups, sauces, soaps and serums. It is how a buyer tells cold-pressed from refined, or raw honey from a squeezy bottle, without reading a word. There is no reason to use it on anything that does not pour.

Photograph the bottle standing still with the label square to the camera, in even light. If the colour of the liquid is the selling point, shoot it against something pale so we read the true tone rather than what the table lent it.
